Shift Lockout is a feature of Intellipunch and Kiosk which ensures that employees are only able to punch in during a specified window of time around the start of a valid Shift. 

This article explains the Shift Lockout feature.

Shift Lockout is set up in Settings>Clock Management>Kiosk Config.

There are two settings for Shift Lockout: Early Shift Punch Minutes and Late Shift Punch Minutes.

•Early Shift Punch Minutes determines how many minutes prior to the start of a shift employees may punch in.

•Late Shift Punch Minutes determines how many minutes after the start of a shift employees may punch in.

Shift Lockout looks at the start time of every Shift active for the client to determine if the attempted punch is within the configured window.

If an employee attempts to punch in outside of the Early or Late window, a message will display on the clock and the employee will not be able to submit a punch until the next valid shift window.
