This article explains how to manage transitions into and out of Daylight Saving Time (DST).

Timecards for employees working overnight when time change occurs

If an employee is working during the overnight hour at which the change from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time (DST) (or vice versa) occurs, their timecard must be manually modified to add or subtract one hour for the shift worked. To account for the time change, change the hour portion of the time of the Punch Out on the timecard to the previous or next hour, depending on whether the applicable timezone is beginning Daylight Saving Time (DST) or returning to Standard Time.

See Edit Multiple Timecards for information on how to edit multiple timecards simultaneously.

TR905 Clocks

During initial configuration, Daylight Saving Time (DST) settings are sent to a clock based on the timezone specified in the associated client portal under Settings>Clock Management>Physical Clock>Clock Setup>Time Zone. Clocks update automatically from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time (DST) and vice versa when the change happens, based on the Time Zone to which they are initially configured in the portal.

On the TR905 clock, Daylight Saving Time configuration can be verified by navigating as show below:

1) Press the M/⏎ button to access the Main Menu.

2) Use the arrow buttons above the fingerprint and badge reader to navigate to System and then press the OK button to select it.

3) Navigate to Date/Time and then press the OK button to select it.

4) Verify whether the Daylight Saving Time is in the On or Off position.
