Timerack's TR905 clock can connect to the internet using either Wi-Fi or ethernet. 


A Wi-Fi password can be entered using the keypad on the clock or uploaded to the clock using a USB flash drive. If the clock was obtained from Timerack recently, a USB flash drive is included in the box.


This article explains how to upload a Wi-Fi password to the TR905 using a USB drive.


Update password on USB drive

1) Download and then copy the file attached to the bottom of this article (file name: updataoptions2.cfg) to a USB drive. 


2) Open the file.


3) Type the password for the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect the TR905 into the document after WirelessKey=


Do not include any spaces between "=" and the password.


4) Save and then close the file.


5) Safely disconnect the USB drive from your computer.


Upload password to TR905

1) Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the left side of the clock. Wait for the USB iconto appear in the upper right corner of the screen to confirm that the USB drive is connected.


2) After the USB iconappears on the clock screen, press the M/⏎ button to access the Main Menu. 


3) Use the arrow buttons above the fingerprint and badge reader to navigate to COMM. and then press the OK button to select it.


4) Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Wireless Network and then press OK to select it. 


5) If WIFI is OFF, press OK to turn it ON. Nearby wireless networks will display when WIFI is ON.


6) Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the desired network and press OK to select it.


7) Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Upload WiFi Password and press OK to select it. 

The password will upload.  


8) Press the ESC button to return to each previous screen until the home screen is displayed.  


9) Use the icons in the upper right of the home screen to verify that the clock is connected to Wi-Fi and the Timerack server.
